Death of The Barenaked Ladies – Steven Page leaves!

I just found out that Steven Page left the Barenaked Ladies. He was their lead singer, and I’ve been hooked to their music since I first heard a cover of ‘If I Had A Million Dollars.’

Music isn’t something I blog about very often. And I don’t usually blog in English. The fact that I break with my usual habits in this post should tell you something about how important this news is to me. I’ve been a fan for years and actually found out about this news while browsing YouTube for some new BNL videos.

Q TV did an interview with Page on the subject, and his carreerplans. He’s going solo, BNL will continue on without him. He seems optimistic about the future of BNL, but that probably just the marketing talking. Truth is I think a decision like this is like signing a death contract. It was the chemistry between Steven & Ed that made the band unique. Without him, the band will never be the same.

I included the interview below. You should check it out. It’s a good, open interview about him leaving the band. It’s got an authentic vibe over it. It’s about 22 minutes long, but great quality and therefore definitely worth your time.

Farewell Barenaked Ladies, it’s been great while it lasted.
